Tamariki Ora - Well Child Services

Whakapai Hauora offer Tamariki Ora - Well Child services for 0-5 year olds free. As part of this service we also offer facilitation services and whanau/family care and support services. Confidentiality is assured.

When your baby reaches 4-6 weeks old, your Lead Maternity Carer (midwife, doctor, obstetrician) will refer you to ongoing care. Whakapai Hauora provides such services through our Registered Nurse Denise Marlow.

We provide support, advice and information on all Tamariki Ora health-related issues, including:

Waihoroi
Johnson-Bates
Tamaki Ora Nurse

breastfeeding
measuring weight, height and head growth
hearing and vision
language, behaviour and development
nutrition
parenting skills/group education
safety

Advocacy and referrals available. Interpreter/communication services available upon pre-arrangement.

All visits are private and confidential, in your own home or at Whakapai Hauora. The choice is yours and the service is free. Discuss this option with your Lead Maternity Carer or contact Whakapai Hauora (or email our Tamariki Nurse, Waihoroi Johnson-Bates). We strive to see clients within thirty minutes of their arrival time.
